HIS-111: Western Civilizations

Course Description:
This course traces the development and enumerates the many influences on what we have come to know as "Western Civilization."
Cultural, religious, military, agricultural, artistic, literary, and other influences will be discussed in as much detail as possible (we're covering 6000 years of human history in 14 weeks!).  Lectures, discussions, slides, films, videos, study guide assignments, textbook and other selected readings will all be employed to assist us in the endeavor of better understanding how the intersection of many cultures and peoples have brought Western culture to its present state.
