February 8, 2000 - Finished the theme song entitled “Jesus Cares for China’s Children” (music and text) that was commissioned by the Hearts for Jesus, Hopes for China Project of the Michigan District of the LC-MS and Wheat Ridge Ministries. I have also been commissioned to write the worship service that will be used by churches in Michigan during February of 2001 for the Hearts for Jesus project.

July 5, 2001 – July 5, 2001 – Released two new CDs. The first, “LWML 60th Anniversary Convention Favorites” is a commission from the LWML of favorite theme songs from the LWML (features my compositions: “In League with Our Lord” (the new LWML theme song) and “Oh, Come, Lord Jesus” which was commissioned in 2001 – a musical setting of the common table prayer). The second CD is titled, “Oh, Come, Emmanuel” and contains 19 Christmas hymns, carols, and spirituals performed on piano and synthesizer. All proceeds from “Oh, Come, Emmanuel” go to The Irwin and Florence Burkart scholarship fund at Concordia University, St. Paul, MN.

October 22-24, 2004 – Serving as “dramatic artist in residence” at Immanuel Lutheran Church and School, St. Charles, MO. I will be spending three days teaching, directing, and playing for services at Immanuel, St. Charles. I directed several drama troupes that performed my original dramatic/musical work entitled “Only One Came Back” at all worships services at Immanuel. The various drama troupes employed multi-age (5th grade through adult) casting.

November 26-28, 2004 - Writer/director of five devotional chancel dramas entitled “The Freedom Factor” for the LC-MS Iowa District Youth Gathering. Also directed a drama troupe of six students from Concordia University as they performed the five dramas for the gathering. Embassy Suites Hotel, Des Moines, IO.
December 3, 2004 – Gave a one hour interview on community channel #6 with Bob Cardinal (mayor of Maplewood). Community Television Station, White Bear Lake, MN. This interview was broadcast about 25 times on numerous local stations throughout the Metro area from December 2004 through January 2005. Interview centered on my life and work as a professor at Concordia University and my creative work in music, drama, writing, storytelling, and teaching the faith.

February 28-March 3 and March 11-13, 2005 – Directing the 10th Anniversary Production of Gospel Time in Gospel Rhyme entitled “His Story Is Glorious!” E. M. Pearson Theatre, Concordia University, St. Paul, MN. Eleven performances were given to audiences that totaled over 2,200 people. July 30-August 3 – Keynoter and Storyweaver and worship speaker for “Ablazing Grace!” the Intergenerational Gathering of the Southern District of the LC-MS in Panama City, FL. I also wrote three chancel dramas for the closing worship service, a hymn based on the theme of the conference titled Ablazing Grace, and will present a mega sectional titled Amazing, Ablazing Dramas: An Intergenerational Approach to Doing Drama in Worship.
